I had to miss the first Barcamp Nashville because I was on vacation. However, this year I’ll be there in full force. And by full force, I mean for half the day, right after my daughter’s birthday.

Sometimes I come into work early and the only coffee shop that’s open (other than McDonald’s, which doesn’t exactly make what I would call coffee) is Starbucks. They’re open at 5:30AM and I’m usually to the office no later than 6AM, so it’s my only good choice for coffee. I also happen to really like Starbucks coffee.

About a year ago I came up with a concept for a video podcast/blog (or “vlog”). The idea would be to chronicle my poor attempt at learning how to play the guitar. I planned to use the isight camera on my MacBook and change locations from time to time to keep things interesting.

I’m sorry if you’ve had problems attempting to comment on this blog during the past few days. For some reason (translation: operator error), the setting got changed so that someone had to be “registered” on the site to make a comment. As I probably have “registering” turned off, that made commenting problematic.

Photographing the Science Museum

I took dozens of pictures at the Smithsonian National Museums (Air and Space, and Natural History) this summer when my parents were visiting. I enjoyed it so much that I nearly declared taking photographs in science museums an official hobby. I love taking my time at museums. Having a camera in my hand establishes that and gives me an excuse to linger and wander around.
