According to their web site, AEGIS Sciences Corporation was founded in 1986 by Dr. David Black, husband of Tennessee State Senator, Diane Black as a "sports doping laboratory."

That is an interesting comment given that in March of 2005 their web site advertised that they could test for Ambien at 2ng/mL.

That document came from a web site that you can still access online live today.

In July of 2007 AEGIS still advertised the ability to test Ambien at 2ng/mL. However, when they were sent a blood sample in September of 2007 without ever advising they could no longer test for Ambien at 2ng/mL, they issued a report at 25 ng/mL indicating None Detected.

When questioned regarding the discrepancy, Travis E. Curtis, M.S. CRIMES Laboratory Manager AEGIS Sciences Corporation, indicated they did in fact test at 25ng/mL and that AEGIS Sciences Corporation did not havethe ability to test below 25ng/mL in ANY of their divisions or areas of responsibility. Despite that fact, AEGIS continued to advertise the ability to test for Ambien at 2ng/mL until early in 2008.

Maybe the fact that you learn from the CRIMES Laboratory Manager of a lab that strives to be THE premier forensic reference laboratory that the laboratory has either regressed in their testing capabilites in the last three years or had erroneous testing information posted on their web site for over three years is not too disturbing to you.

But, what would your reaction be if that lab refused to provide a written confirmation of their claimed web site error to prevent you from incurring further injury and damages?

And...... what would your reaction be if another laboratory detected the presence of Ambien four months later at over twice the level of the regressed level they stated they can NOW detect the substance at?
