A few weeks ago I went to Target specifically to buy a pack of gray (or black) crew socks. Target had no gray crew socks, so I went black. So, looking at and intending to buy a pack of black Hanes crew socks, I somehow grabbed a pack of black ankle-sock footies. I didn’t notice until I opened them.

Frankly, I don’t feel comfortable wearing socks that don’t cover my ankles (at least in public). But I’d gone to Target in the first place because many of my crew soc
