Here are a couple of quotes by John McCain in the January 30 GOP debate:

"I think that we've got to return to the principle that you don't lend money that can't pay it back. I think that there's some greedy people on Wall Street that perhaps need to be punished."

That was 90 minutes of my life that I won’t get back

This makes two debates in a row where Fred Thompson was by far the strongest candidate. What do you want to bet that after this snoozefest, Fred’s numbers actually go UP in Florida.

Okay, Rudy gets a consolation prize by virtue of the fact that the New York Times hates him so much, but myself and Stephen Green are probably the only ones still awake at that point . . . and Green probably won’t remember it by morning.

[UPDATE]:

Fred Thompson is out.

That being said, unfortunately (for Paul's supporters), their candidate's message is not resonating with voters--despite respectable fundraising . . . despite tireless politicking by supporters.

Ace posts a must read. Every word. (Some are profane but not inappropriate when applied to Ron Paul.)

Most memorable moment of the Sunday night GOP debate thus far: After Fred had beens speaking about reforming Social Security for several moments including a lament that everyone in Washington was afraid to touch the issue even though all parties knew that the current system was unsustainable, the moderator then asked the rest of the Republican field if they wanted to weigh in on the issue. He might as well have been asking them which one of the candidates would volunteer to help unclog a ba
