There is no doubt whatsoever that the number of homeless folks is increasing here in Nashville and with it, attacks on them, both by others in the homeless community and by those who prey upon a segment of our society that is traditionally avoiding of law enforcement interaction .

Everybody picks on Newport and Cocke Co. because, well, they're such an easy target (although Knox Co. and Blount Co. are competing for the bullseye). But this is a little much.

A refreshing change, seeing someone prosecuted for criminal acts perptrated on the homeless. But homeless on homeless crime is a nasty reality for folks on the street that, as harsh as this may sound, seems to "comes with the territory."
