We've been hearing rumors (*cough* Bob Dylan *cough*) about who might show up as the "surprise guest" at the AMA festival's final night showcase at The Cannery.

Last weekend we pulled a double birthday. Saturday we celebrated SueBoo’s and on Sunday it was Pops.

Saturday we went to a Mexican restaurant and had so much fun that the other patrons looked at us funny:

Lintilla and I have always personalized our marriage - meaning we treat it as if it were a person.  And, in a way, it is.  That is, our marriage is MUCH stronger, more resilient,  and interesting than just the sum of us.  It’s hard to explain, but I believe that other long-marrieds understand what I’m talking about.

Finally!

I finally saw some famous folk in Nashville. Out and about.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill! They were looking totally normal and low key in the Green Hills area. No one was bothering them, thank goodness. I think she saw my friend Michelle gawking at her for a moment, but it was okay.

It takes several days for Jerusalem to regroup after Purim. Although the rest of Israel, and the Jewish world, celebrate Purim immediately after the Fast of Esther, Jerusalemites take an extra day before they party hardy. So, while the rest of us used Shabbat to clear our heads, Jerusalemites had a whole day to rest up for the event.

1. The staff at The 5 Spot rule. If you were at the show, you probably saw my girlfriend crack her head open right before intermission. You also probably ignored the whole event beause the Spot-dudes kept it super low-key and totally pro. They were also calm and collected enough to keep my panic-stricken punk-ass from totally freaking the f--k out. Kudos, gentlemen.

I have got to stop being sick just to get some downtime. I mean, no, I’m not getting sick intentionally, but the net effect of being sick is that I get to be low-key, which ends up being kind of nice (if you overlook the whole watery-eyes, runny-nose, sneezing, coughing, headache-y, feverish part), but it shouldn’t take being sick to relax, right? Right.

Ugh. Pass the tissue and aspirin, please. And a blanket. I’m chillin’ out over here, literally.

Blake Fontenay notes a geography error made by the Mike Huckabee campaign in announcing their “Central Florida” endorsements:

As a former Central Floridian, I must correct this error. Fort Lauderdale, Plantation and Broward County aren’t part of Central Florida any more than Covington is part of Middle Tennessee.
