I think I have espoused my love of Cook's Illustrated once or twice on the blog...

Well, today, my worlds collided. I got this email from Chris Kimball (the founder and editor of Cook's Illustrated):

Actually, this news broke several hours ago, but today is when the poo will hit the fan.

According to sources at Newster, Jesse Jackson said, "Barack...he's talking down to black people...telling n—s how to behave."

Tonight on the way to Dairy Queen, as I was rubbing sanitizer into my hands and mumbling something about not being able to stand shaking hands with so many people, my mom accused me of having a phobia and being "weird." While I didn't really appreciate that (though I'm certainly no stranger to accusations of weirdness), I must admit there's something to it.

A day or two late on this. "All of the interesting ones have dropped out...Hillary gone, the Mormon gone, the preacher gone, Fred Thompson gone.... I can't make another McCain age joke... McCain old jokes are even older than John McCain. What are we supposed to do now: Pay attention? Talk about the genuine differences between the candidates?
