It was little surprise to hear Robin Smith complaining about how people hate her because she’s not an elitist, because, you know, the conservatives are supposed to be the party of the every-day schmoes while the liberals are the party of effete wankers and atheists and pot smoking hippies and welfare cheats.

If you have a hard time making ends meet in a world of $4/gallon gasoline, you’re just a bunch of whiners. At least, that’s what former Texas Senator Phil Gramm, John McCain’s economic advisor, told the Washington Times:

"We have sort of become a nation of whiners," he said.

A elitist does not have to be rich or have a prestigious education. An elitist does not necessarily drink fancy drinks or drive luxury cars. There is no need to be good looking or personable to be an elitist.
