It seems predictable to write about your father on Father's day, I know this. I know a lot of people will post tributes and memories and I will read them and tear up. I can't do that. Take no insult but I find praising him today a little too, I don't know, pedestrian. I love my father. I don't need a specific day for that.

Several months ago, my oldest stepdaughter wrecked the car. She wasn't hurt, but the incident was traumatic for several reasons, the chief being that on that one specific day, she not driving her car. She was driving our car.

I’m trying my level best (with the help of the Holy Spirit) to live at peace with all mankind. That means walking away from unnecessary fights and confrontations. This may explain why I’ve stopped commenting on other blogs–I don’t want to pick fights.

The other thing I really don’t understand about this is how Republicans calling someone “elite” is supposed to be an insult.  Isn’t that what Republicanism promises?  That if you work really hard, you will be rewarded?  That rich people deserve their money and successful people deserve their success?
