McCain has picked the governor of Alaska as his running mate. Sarah Palin is an interesting choice because it is designed to pick off women who think that Obama ran a sexist campaign. She's also got a reputation as a reformer and a whistleblower, which is exciting.

You may or may not have read about the plane crash in Honduras, which killed 4 and injured 65. It was a flight from LA to Tegucigalpa and ended quite badly, but not as badly as it could have.
