Amy Griffith reports that Nashville's community- and faith-based IAF-affiliate, Tying Nashville Together has come out against the MNPS-adopted rezoning plan that would send north Nashville students to the Pearl-Cohn cluster.

I've largely stayed out of this whole segregation v. neighborhood schools argument going on in the MNPS because I don't have a concrete opinion either way...I can see both sides.

Jeff Woods is calling out the white liberal community for their silence:

It’s kind of sad when editorialists, lacking something meaningful to say about an actual issue, manufacture a controversy and then make [bleep] up to support an imaginary viewpoint.

Great information in this morning's Tennessean by Jaime Sarrio titled "Poor Kids Teachers Earn Less in Metro". Just a short note, as time will allow at this time of my life, regarding a bit of it.

There is a noticeable and important disconnect in the report released yesterday by the consulting firm helping Metro find a new public schools director.

Central Office should be better aligned and streamlined to be a support to the classrooms/schools. Everyone is committed to working together to move our system forward and to increase academic achievement among all subgroups.
