Post-cyclone circumstances worsen for the oppressed people of Myanmar.

The U.N. humanitarian agency said in a new assessment that between 1.2 million and 1.9 million were struggling to survive in the aftermath of the storm that struck eight days ago.

I was terribly cruel and insensitive to the plight of what remains of the Burmese people earlier this week by intimating that Queen Laura should quit begging the Myanmar junta to steal our tax money intended for the poor and needy (as our voracious Imperialist Hegemonic Empire is wont to do).

Hurricane Katrina killed 1,836 people in the United States nearly three years ago. The evacuation effort was considered a failure. Relief organizations quickly mobilized. Americans gave a considerable amount of money to the relief efforts. People helped each other.
