It was a sign of the times. And so, too, is its demise.

The National Debt clock has run out of digits.

Though the Dow dropped below 9,000 today, and the Bush administration is considering buying into banks to stabilize lending, here's an even bigger sign that we're screwed:

Technorati‘s “authority” measurement is at best unreliable and at worst completely nonsensical these days.  Technorati (supposedly) counts the number of unique blogs linking to your blog in the last six months and calls that number your “authority.” However, sometimes it misses one or fifty.  If you know of a link Technorati has forgotten to count you can go to Technorati.com/
