Two Democratic candidates for the United States Senate will be in the Scenic City within a few days of each other to meet area voters and seek support in the August 7 primary election.

Mike Padgett, a former Knox County clerk, will be at Wally's Restaurant at 1600 McCallie Avenue this morning from 7:00 - 8:30.

What Hillary said last week:

“Senator Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans is weakening again,” Clinton said, apparently citing an Associated Press article, which also found “how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”

This is not only a really fine bit of writing but it’s also a lesson in history.

The talking heads of the TV babblerati certified it to be true -- this is the first time in 40 years the Democratic primary election in Indiana has been important. That would be 1968, and Robert Kennedy had just jumped into the race for the Democratic nomination after Lyndon Johnson had just bowed out.

The proof is in. Hillary Clinton is, as was long rumored, a human being. Thus, ending a once promising exodus into the terrestrial wasteland of electing the first extra-terrestrial President:
