10 months

My secretary was out to lunch this afternoon when the man tentatively poked his head in my office.

"I didn't see anyone out there," he said, referring to the empty outer office.

I usually hear her door open and close and but he'd been quiet, or maybe I'd been concentrating too hard. (Shut up. It happens.)

Ok I admit, the Colts have been an impressive team in recent years.  Winning the division in each of the last 5 years is an accomplishment any team could be proud of.  Though some might argue (quite convincingly) that Rex Grossman single-handedly lost that Superbowl for the Bears, I'll take the high road and give Manning credit for leading his team to victory.

The county’s volunteer fire department will break ground on a new headquarters this week.

It is expected to take 10 months to complete the $1.2-million facility, which will feature five bays and serve as the hub of operations for Maury Rural Fire and Rescue.

The word from the state on the impact of new taxes on cigarettes is no word:

Tennessee officials say 10 months is not enough time to measure the health impact of tripling the cigarette tax but it has some smokers buying in other states.

Not on her own, of course, and she often gets distracted by just about anything and plops down where she’s standing, but it still counts.
