WEST BEND, Wis. (AP) - A former restaurant cook who has pleaded guilty to a food-tampering charge in Washington County has been sentenced to six months behind bars and three years probation. Ryan Kropp, of West Bend, was fired along with another cook after a Feb. 23 incident at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in West Bend.

A sherrif had been charged with rape among other charges. Today’s local paper reports that 2 of the charges were dropped and 2 other charges will be dismissed, as Claiborne County Sheriff David Ray completes a 2-years probation program.

Education is supposed to be about learning and knowledge. Today’s education seems to be about far more than that, however. From participating in the “Who gets a seat in the Lifeboat?” scenario to curricula dealing with homosexuality, moral issues are taking up more time in schools.

So what in the world is going on in City Hall?  I venture in the front doors only rarely - usually to pay a water bill or attend an occasional meeting - so I am not privy to what goes on behind closed doors.
