While so far the campaigns have focused on which candidate will pretend to hate free trade more, or which candidate will and won't have a mandate in a health care policy that will cease to be relevant once it hits the legislature's floor; I think a new policy proposal will soon gain prominence in the race between Hillary and Obama...the gas tax.

I'm a bit depressed this morning that the magical season for UT's men basketball has come to an end. It's sad to see our great run come to an end and I'm sorry that our three seniors couldn't go out as national champions.

That said, as I reflect on the season, I can't help but be satisfied with the run Tennessee made as a whole.

I heard Obama say from his Texas HQ this evening, "si se puede." I wonder how wise it is to wield that slogan given its prominence in the pro-illegal-immigration marches of several summers ago.
