unrequited love

I apologize for not posting for a while. I was sick for a good two weeks from the “LeakyFlu” with a stomach bug added on for good measure, so needless to say after feeling miserable and one visit to the ER I wasn’t really feeling very “bloggy.” I will write up my report from Terminus and post a whole bunch of book reviews soon.

A dozen years ago, I sucked it up and auditioned for Buffalo's Shakespeare in the Park.

I’ve written more blog posts and comments in the last 24 hours than I have in the whole of last month, I think.   Of course, the quality of some of those posts is debateable.

But I’ve learned a lot about myself today.

With the introduction of the "O! Ring" earlier today, I knew I had to have a model who could ride this pony with sweaty, steamy, sexy (well, not so much sexy, given the clientele...) unrequited love. All for a promise of hopeyness and changeyness.

And a couple bucks for to fill the ol' crackpipe...

Was opera ever truly the highest form of cultural expression? I mean, and no offense to my two opera loving friends, does a tale of a malformed dwarf’s unrequited love of the peasant girl which is thwarted by the black-hearted prince really represent high culture? I don’t know, I think the best of movie of the last ten years was Iron Man.
