Turns out that Smyrna is one of several evacuee sites in Tennessee for people from New Orleans and Louisiana.

Here is a list of the local shelters, and the time each is expected to open:

2pm - Smyrna National Guard Training Center, 400 Fitzhugh Blvd, Smyrna, TN (TEMA shelter)

Moments after proclaiming that fixing the energy crisis of 2008 was “not a partisan issue” on this morning’s Steve Gill Show [guest host Larry Woods], Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn forgot the definition of “non-partisan.”

"...the facility has been overwhelmed, sleeping 400 to 500 more per night than the 300 it was designed to serve overnight."
