Priest Lake Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Harold Frelix Sr., held a successful festival this past week that brought together youth, families, seniors....many in the Southeast Davidson community. It was a great event that brought people together positively.

Lane Motor Museum, 702 Murfreesboro Pike, will offer "Magic of the Machine" 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, July 26.
The cost is $5 for adults; $3 for seniors; and free to 17 years old and younger.

Thompson Lane Branch Library

Adam and the Couch Potatoes will entertain children of all ages with their "kid-centric rock and roll" during the Summer Reading Finale Party at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Thompson Lane Branch Library.

The library, 380 Thompson Lane, will have prizes and refreshments for all who have completed the Summer Reading program.

"People who don't make enough to file a return are eligible for at least $300."

This is particularly disturbing, especially for those seniors in Nashville who are facing bankruptcy and the resultant change in lifestyle, since services that they will undoubtedly find necessary now are so scattered and fragmented that many of them will never be able to cover the distances without at least some additional assistance.
