I got this email from a friend the other day:

So, I came upon this:

And then read this quote from the singer:

A bunch of the cool kids are having birthdays today and are getting well wishes on Twitter. It got me to thinking that I was sneaking cigarettes and had already been through Watergate when they were not on this planet.

I got the call about 5 p.m. yesterday. It was Homer and she sounded upset.

“Tommy Maddox has been killed in a car wreck. His truck got hit by an 18-Wheeler,” she said, her voice breaking.

First of all, my dear readers who have sent me such kind emails, tweets and have asked me some great questions, let me take a moment to navel gaze and tell you of the Spider Bite tragedy. At least I think it’s a tragedy.

My vote is the only one that counts.

I realize that at this moment and for roughly 36 days, my car, Steve Austin, has been AWOL.

I was already carpooling before Austin’s disappearance but with news like this, I’m wondering if I should just set him free.

I’ve sort of been in a cave for the month of June in an angry, bitter battle with my very own psyche that has given me internal chiggers.

Yay. I suck.

I watch television marathons because I want nothing to do with committing myself to things.

Scout and I have both had interesting things happen this week at our jobs.
