Winter suits me. The slanted light of short days, the way that breezes pull my hair back from my face. Winter adds a briskness to my walk, a sense of purpose against the cold. The layers that are acceptable in the face of brusque weather. The protection afforded by a coat, a sweater, a scarf, a hat. The protection afforded by being covered.
