Almost every day, I hear calls over the police scanner concerning pit bulls attacking other dogs, biting people, or pinning people inside their homes or cars. Could it be time to ban pit bulls outright? Yes, I realize some of 'em are supposedly friendly. I realize some are allegedly tame, and some are like members of the family...

Because people simply cannot figure out the basic cause and effect phenomenon, we have two utterly moronic bills flopping around like dying fish in our legislature. The bill would ban pit bull dog ownership, period. Any dog deemed 50% or more pit bull would have to be relinquished by July 2008. And if you keep the dog, it is a misdemeanor.

So, I got into a heated debate with another blogger over the danger/viciousness of Pit Bulls. She said that a properly trained Pit Bull wouldn’t hurt anyone. I said that even properly trained Pit Bulls could easily turn on people.
