It looks like there’s a fight brewing in Congress over lifting the ban on off-shore drilling, just in time for election season. And I’ll be the first to admit that it puts congressional Democrats in a tough spot, having to choose to between what’s right and what’s politically expedient. (Three guesses which one I expect them to take.

It just gets worse and worse. Via Freedom Democrats we learn that Ms. Palin is none too keen on all that free speech silliness:

I got the following email from the nice folks over at American Solutions, Newt Gingrich’s Energy Policy group.

Congress is failing to adopt a long-term American energy plan, and it’s standing in the way of developing more American energy now. Politics is once again trumping common sense in Washington.

Or does the main thrust of McCain’s recent spate of ads seem to be that the fact that lots of people liek Barack Obama is some sort of character flaw?

A Republican wants to bring up the Paris Hilton plan for energy independence:

Go ahead. Guess which candidate is getting more press. Yep, Paris Hilton. Even the Christian Science Monitor has a serious article about whether her energy plan will work.

I like Paris Hilton's spoof of McCain's recent "celebrity" comment regarding Obama. It sure beats her parents' whining about how McCain spends his campaign cash. Of course, McCain has responded to the spoof by applauding Paris Hilton's energy plan as being better than Obama's.
