The abortion issue takes on considerable weight when you have people basing their political preferences and votes on this single issue. Can you imagine a few more judges like Scalia? Can you imagine womens' abortion rights restricted to just a dozen or so 'blue states'?

R. Neal, after reading up on an exchange on abortion between two incumbent Republican legislators fighting it out for one Senate seat, asks this question:

We knew that Barack Obama was pro-abortion. There is a difference between pro-choice and pro-abortion. Pro-choicers claim they don't necessarily like abortion, but still believe it should be legal. And then there are those who think abortion is the greatest thing in the world. I call them "pro-abortion." Obama is in that latter camp.

Senator Alexander has taken up the cause of the flat tax.

It's always an entertaining exercise when Democrats dive into discussions on faith. It makes them squirm. Yesterday, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton had a forum on faith which CNN calls "a risk-filled journey for both."

Steve Gill on the possibility of John McCain picking Condoleezza Rice as his runningmate:

I hope so. That is the only thing McCain could do to get me excited about his campaign.

It appears there are some bright spots in the Bush economy:

It continually amazes me the lengths to which liberals will go to tell other people how to live. An environmental group is demanding that major league baseball pitcher Logan Kensing stop hunting from a helicopter, like it's any of their business what he does on his own time with his own resources. Folks, I'm telling you, liberals are not pro-choice.
