Why yes, you must continue to put up with me pondering Busy Girl's 8th grade graduation for another week or so.

In the midst of handing out money right and left during this graduation season and driving her from place, to place, to place, to place, the significance of the whole thing is dawning on me.

Today my little girl turns 8 years old!

Any guesses on what the turnout is going to be tomorrow in West Virginia?

In 2004, Kerry garnered 326K votes in the general election (375K self-identified Democrats voted). Assuming only those Kerry voters show up, and Hillary's margin is 70-30, she'd net 130 thousand popular votes or so.

Legacy. Governors and Presidents worry, “What will my legacy be?”. It’s a fancy-shmancy way of asking, “What exactly will they say I DID for 8 years?”

I mostly liked this episode. Minimal Jack and Kate, a good amount of mysticism and Nestor Carbonell. And of course it was very satisfying to watch someone–anyone–beat the crap out of Michael.

You know those annoying pop-up and banner ads that promise to give you something for free just by answering a simple question? They now come in convenient post card form!

I got my stimulus package in the first round in perfect timing to pay some bills. For the first time in my adult life, or maybe in 8 years, I'm proud of my government, at least until I saw W blame congress for everything today and put in silly plugs for McCain. But, I'm glad for the cash.

I was reading this story from AP, and I had a negative reaction to reading that saying a racist word is a crime in Brazil.

In the AP story, a soccer player called a referee a monkey, and he was handcuffed and taken to jail.
