I recently posted on Obama's evolving Iraq policy, and even mentioned it in my op/ed on Tuesday. One of the things Obama has said is that "My first day in office, I will bring the Joint Chiefs of Staff in, and I will give them a new mission, and that is to end this war - responsibly, deliberately, but decisively."

Interesting development over at Ben Smith's house. Apparently, the CEO of FedEx Fred Smith, whom McCain listed as a potential Secretary of Defense, thinks George Marshall might've been right to oppose the recognition of Israel; and that John McCain most reminds Smith of Marshall.

Cecily Friday just doesn’t get it. To defend Nevelle Obama, she quoted the Secretary of Defense who said,
“We need to figure out a way to develop some leverage . . . and then sit down and talk with them..”
Notice that I highlighted the words “develop some leverage”.
