Speaking of pie and nutrition, Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN put out a newsletter with some info on watching sugar in your diet.

According to this helpful chart, jelly, pumpkin pie and milkshakes defy all known laws of nutrition and physics.

To the gym that is.

Yes, it’s that time of year.  You know the time people start making those resolutions.  You know, the ones that they swear off sweets for a while so they lose a few lbs.  Or maybe said were going to the gym and sticking to a diet and fall off about two weeks into it.

Detroit Ham

We’re having “Detroit Ham” for Christmas, though my dad is disappointed that we couldn’t find regular Vernor’s Ginger Ale so we have to use Diet.  He’s convinced that the patrons at the Bordeaux Kroger are all also planning on “Detroit Ham” and that’s why we have to make do with Diet Vernor’s.

While I applaud anyone trying to move toward a more plant-based diet, there is simply no such thing as a "vegetarian who occasionally eats meat." Flexitarian is not and should not be a word. There's already a word for people who eat plants and animals: omnivore.
