City council members are asking the county to block a proposed landfill and suggested the matter could end up in the courts.
City Manager Paul Boyer Jr. said there was a fatal flaw in two Mt. Pleasant companies’ proposal for an aluminum landfill on about 90 acres off Withers[bleep] Road, northwest of the city limits.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have shutdown a popular Chinese restaurant in Murfreesboro following a raid Tuesday.
Agents raided Chef Wang’s on Northwest Board Street around 9:30 a.m. and took over a dozen suspected illegal immigrants into custody.
