The statement by an aide to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki calling his remarks in Der Spiegel "misinterpreted and mistranslated" followed a call to the prime minister's office from U.S. government officials in Iraq.

Is Obama backtracking? Well, yes and no.

Well, forgive me for not buying into Obama’s denunciation of Reverend Wright’s comments.  Obama said enough is enough already with the Reverend.  But the problem is, nothing the Reverend said at the National Press Club was new!  The Rev. only backed up or reiterated comments that have been the subject of controversy.

My new job requires me to access different parts of our building that in 4 previous years I never had reason to venture into. I am now the guy who brings the mail to the mail room. There is a large photograph on the wall in that distant hallway that always makes me stop and stare at it.

First, Vanderbilt Homecoming on Oct. 13, wherein we suffered a devastating loss to UGA (yes, Vandy did lose, but there are many of us in Commodore Nation who are loathe to say that UGA won...). The loss, I am sad to say, depressed me for longer than just the weekend.
