wonderful time

I had a really wonderful time. The fact that this unconference was so great with really awesome presentations, and it’s FREE! is unbelievable. So wonderful we are in an age where events like these are possible.

Someday, when Cuzzin Terry and his Missus permanently move to Florida, if the Good Lawd’s willing, I hope this will be my backyard view:

 
We had a wonderful time last night honoring Dr. Liane Russell as the 2008 Bill Russell River Hero Award recipient.  A crowd of about 80 people gathered at the beautiful Foundry at World’s Fair Park to celebrate Lee’s many incredible accomplishments.  Check out our Flickr page for photos from last night’s celebration.

Update from New Orleans Friend:

Greetings Busy Mom Minions!

Please let me thank you for your thoughts and concern for us all. Luckily, this time it was only just a scare for us New Orleanians.

Our drive was the most hideous part of it all. 8 hours to get to Hattiesburg (normally a 2 hr trip) and 17.5 hrs to Nashville (normally 8.5 hr trip).

I drove a guy from the airport to the hotel today who really made my day. He flew into Nashville from Detroit just to see Mark Germino play a gig tonight. We shared a seven-minute conversation that took me back to my old record store days in the coolest possible way.

I really miss hanging out with music-obsessed folks like me.

OK....you know how athletes grow out their facial hair when they are in the FINALS or the World Series or the Stanly Cup Playoffs!!??

Miss A is my night owl. She is my thumb sucker. She is my wall kicker.
