From : The Orthodox Study Bible. This statement was meaningful to me:

"He who is humble in his thoughts and engaged in spiritual work, when he
reads the Holy Scriptures, will apply everything to himself and not to
his neighbor." We are to look in scripture for a personal application.
"What does it mean to me?" Christ is speaking to us. We must listen!

A friend of mine called earlier this evening with some very sad news about some mutual friends of ours. It’s just breaking my heart, because I want so badly to help but I know from experience there is nothing I can do. I don’t like feeling helpless.

(Note: This series was written five years ago when I was a Sophomore in college, January 2003. It does not necessarily represent where I am at today, but that’s not to say it’s maybe more where I would like to be.)

The Supreme Court has ruled that jurors can bring their faith into the courtroom.

I was talking about the Colson article with my mom on the phone and it set me on a mental tangent.

Prayer is a hard thing. As I sit in my bed getting ready for bed my mind wanders to tomorrow, to what I did today, to the chores I left - I try to focus myself to talk to God. The day flew by and it seems the conversation never started and here I am trying to wrap it up.
