I feel like I have began a post like this before. For those of you that don't know me, I grew up, with an amazing group of friends, following the Grateful Dead. The time I spent, the places I traveled, the folks I met, and the music I heard, had a significant impact on who I am today.

As I've mentioned on more than a few occasions here, former vice mayor Howard Gentry has told the Homelessness Commission in a public meeting that "government cannot do it alone."
He's absolutely correct, of course, but what's amazing to me is that there are folks who continue to think that government is going to come to the rescue, riding in on the big white housing horse, to save the day and put an end to the misery of those who must endure the streets 24/7.
What is "Fiscal Conservatism"?

I went to the Mike Huckabee campaign blog Mike Huckabee for President - Blogs - Romney is leaving race... to see what they were saying about Romney's departure, and for some reason, this comment jumped off the page (By the way, the campaign has officially said next to nothing about Romney's decision, but there are tons of comments.):
"Mike Huckabee is a true fiscal conservative."
What Technology Companies Can Learn From Apple

At Sitening, we’re strictly an Apple shop — we use Macs in every part of our workflow. Several of us yesterday were watching a live feed of Steve Jobs’ Keynote speech with keen interest, “oohing” and “aahing” as the feed was updated with shiny new products. This led me to ponder what we could learn from the man who only wears a black turtle neck and blue

This weekend I watched with much interest The History Channel’s 1968 With Tom Brokaw. The two-hour program chronicled much of the political and cultural drama and unrest during that year. Brokaw plays his journalist-as-storyteller role well, putting his personal recollections in the context of global and national events.
