Ahh, dear readers. Once again we return to why I haven’t been blogging today.

Born on the streets, nourished and matured in prison, gangs not only influence clothing, crime and conduct, but are the unseen forces behind violence, gunfire and drugs in Maury County.

Sitting at a cookout downtown, waiting for fireworks, listening to a conversation about the best uses for various drugs.

I woke up yesterday morning and it was weird.

It’s was almost like someone had angrily rammed an afghan into both of my ears. Everything sounds tinny and echos.

This is odd.

Wolf: "Defensive back Adam 'Pacman' Jones, recently signed by the Cowboys. Here's a guy suspended all of 2007 following a shooting in a Vegas night club."

Imus: "Well, stuff happens. You're in a night club, for God's sake. What do you think's gonna happen in a night club? People are drinking and doing drugs, there are women there, and people have guns. So, there, go ahead."

Today, just about a mile from our Nashville campus, a couple hundred volunteers are giving up part of their weekend to serve at Light House Ministries. LHM is a Christian organization which works with homeless men, most of which are addicted to drugs.
