H is all better now, other than the occasional, "Wipe the blood off your teeth, honey." We had a nice Mother's Day brunch with my mom and dad, and took a few really nice pictures outside afterwards. I just downloaded them and in every single one, she has a big swatch of blood on her front tooth. Oh well.

Today, 16,000 children will die from hunger. Today, 1,500 children will become infected with HIV. Today, nearly 5,000 children will die from diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation. These statistics reflect the devastating reality of poverty—and they can be overwhelming.

Bible Park USA is coming to Nashville. This is no joke. The developers have already spent a lot of money on design and options on the property. The remaining hurdle is to get the County Industrial Board to authorize the use of tax increment financing. The Park would cost $150 million to $200 million and would be located in adjoining Rutherford County.

My dad loves animals.  He studied wildlife management in college.  He’d stop mowing the yard and call me over to him when he found a new kind of bug or grass snake he knew I’d never seen before.  He’d lay it out on the hand and slice it open, pointing to and describing the different organs inside it.  I’d try to be more excited than nauseous.  I could tell he reall

I know I haven’t posted much lately, but I’ve been out of sorts.  Yes, there’s the usual busy-ness, but there’s also something that has been haunting me.  I think I need to talk about it, as this seems to help sometimes.

Every day , the news tells us about our economy going downhill. Look around , gas prices are up , people are giving their houses back to the bank , while the kids go back home , to live with mom and dad. Butt , and I do mean butt , some people know where the real cash is , just waiting to be , withdrawn.
