Katie has written before about C being mamafied, but now it’s getting ridiculous. In February, Katie wrote:

Do you remember when your dad was taking care of you?  The pancakes were harder and shinier and more dry-wallier than mom’s.  The crust wasn’t cut off the sandwich. Bedtime came two hours early. We’re making memories like that this weekend. 

So, my dad calls me up to tell me that a.) they’ve found a house to rent while my mom finishes up her thirty years; b.) that my birthday presents should start dribbling in at any time now; and c.) that, if I want some of their furniture to fill my house with, I’d better buy a house right now.

This idea of surprising my parents for their anniversary with a vacation is not necessarily a good one. My sister is pushy, my brother is apathetic, and I can think of many people I'd rather travel with.

When my parents came to Greece five years ago for our wedding, they came at exactly the same time of year, so they kinda had an idea of what to expect weather wise. Since we were sweating to death by the wedding day and were grateful for any air conditioning we could get, they packed for a warm Greek late spring.

The country music world was saddened today by the passing of Eddy Arnold, a Hall of Fame member and the very first CMA Entertainer of the Year. My father and sister got to meet Mr. Arnold a few years back. My sister was looking into some of our genealogy, and Dad took her to a cemetery somewhere near Nashville where some of our ancestors are buried. ...
