butterflies

P.J. Tobia reports that a largely white Antioch neighborhood may have shown ethnic prejudice in opposing the rezoning request of a Hispanic congregation.

We have an abundance of wildlife in Tennessee, and too often we overlook the little things.

One of the things I love about where I live is the many butterflies that cruies the gorge. We rarely use insecticides in our garden and there are no farms close by, so other than the aerial pesticide spraying of the timber companies, the absence of chemicals allows things to proceed in the natural order

I dropped Gresham off at football camp yesterday morning.  We were a little early.  The coach told us to wait on the bleachers across the field.  Actually, what he said was, “Groves, go wait on the bleachers ‘till we get goin’.”

I found

I’m sorta mad that I missed the Earthquake.  What aggravates the pee-waddlin’ outta me is the fact I missed it by about 30 minutes. 

Today I am thankful for:

~getting to see so many aunts, uncles, cousins, etcetera in Florida. (Trip photos are slowly making their way to flickr. And SBFVS! updates will continue tomorrow, I promise!)

~Pea reminiscing about our trip. "Yesterday we ate at the fish restaurant with EVERYBODY!"

Sweet Melissa made this for me a few months ago and she was so proud of her work.  What better time to show it off than Valentine’s Day. 

Yesterday we spent the day with the G-Man clan, the Greenmachine family, Cool Ronald, etc. I have 4 bowls of SueBoo’s homemade chili. I am paying the price today with what is being called an @ss-hangover (if you know what I mean).
