The big bad meanies in the MSM have the audacity to cover Obama's trip overseas (you know, the one McCain thought was worthy of bringing up every day on the stump until he went), even after McCain made them barbecue at one of his many homes around the country.

Happy Fourth of July!
We have a WILD celebration planned at the Barrett ranch.
Gabi, Daddy, Grandma L, Papa Steve, Uncle Shane and Aunt Chrissy are going to devour some barbecue tonight and then head over for a fireworks show.
Gabi is really excited!
She keeps asking: "Why are we going to see fireworks mommy?" just so she can hear about it one more time.

Winston was from northwest Tennessee and contacted me about a year ago. We had a few emails back and forth and I met him once at Mothership Barbecue. He was always lovely and so encouraging.

And the man could write circles around you.

Been dating the great guy for a couple of weeks now. Met his parents today. He's meeting my family on Friday at our annual 4th of July pool party/barbecue/fireworks dealie.

He's really cool. I'm having fun. I'm not stressed out. I'm not worried. It's weird! In a good way...

Cheryl tagged me for this meme, I think I’ve done it before but I thought I’d see if I could come up with more random things about myself.

Isn't it great! We all have a day off and the weather is so wonderful! We will have a perfect day for barbecue!

But today, May 26, is more than a day off...it is more than a day with great weather. It is more than food.

It is Memorial Day, 2008...a day we, as Americans, remember the sacrifice our soldiers have made for this nation throughout our history.

I'd like to think most of us have moved past the idea that support and encouragement of our troops - the men and women who volunteer to serve in the military and not the hired contractors who serve to make a profit - does not mean support for the war in Iraq. I have never supported it and still cannot.
