I had a 9am meeting this morning so I was not able to be one of the first in line for the iPhone. That didn’t stop me from at least checking out the festivities. Here are pictures from the Apple Store in the Green Hills Mall and the AT&T store in Green Hills:

…until I can buy an iPhone 3G!!! I’ve been waiting for this moment for more than a year. When the first iPhone was announced, I was still under contract with the [bleep]fest known as Sprint, and I was damned if I was going to give those assholes $175 to cancel a contract that was almost fulfilled.

It’s interesting how we can get so used to things and take them for granted, especially technology. Last night I took the iBook in to the Apple Store for repairs. The screen had gone a little bonkers and it’s hardware-related, not software, so sending it off or buying a new one werethe options.

It was with near-hyperventilation and great chagrin that I fully realized this morning that my sweet Mac will be taken from me tomorrow. I must admit it was one of the great selling points of moving here, and since August, it has been a companion second only to Dorian.
