I’m posting about this because I know Jim and I dig him. He’s trying to raise awareness and some money for HAEA.

Here’s what’s up:

This is the week that I'm back to school. With so much to do, Crummy Church Signs will go on a brief hiatus. Also, I'm pretty much out of submissions (as usually happens this time of year). I'll be back when there's more time and more ammunition.

Here's a question that I've been pondering. Within my congregation, we don't "elect" elders per se. But we submit their names as people we think would be good to serve in those roles. If enough submissions are put in for a person, that person or persons agree to or not to stand as elders.

This along with countless other things that never seem to end here in good ol’ East Tennessee make it really hard to keep up with all the idiotic things local politicians do.

The deadline has been extended to Monday for submissions to the Times-Gazette's annual Father's Day salute, which will be published next month....
