This weeks edition of the "Smyrna Show" will be broadcast today and might be worth a listen.

Some times I do stupid [bleep], not because I think I’ll enjoy it, but because deep down I know I’ll be able to tell someone who appreciates how stupid it was. Well, now that I work in an office of one instead of eight, I don’t really have anyone to tell! So I’m going to bore the general public with my stupid story.

Governor Phil Bredesen will make his first campaign visit into the 12th District on Wednesday, September 3rd for Becky Ruppe.
Bredesen will be making stops in Roane County and will end his trip in East Tennessee by attending a campaign fundraiser in Kingston for the Ruppe for State Senate Campaign

I'm here at the Pepsi Center, getting set up for the 3:00 nominations. All (or most) of the Tennessee delegation votes have been cast. The votes will be entered into the computer at 3PM, and the roll call is scheduled to commence at 4PM. Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Gray Sasser will cast Tennessee's votes.

Vote to Rock is a program of Maury Votes to inspire young adults ages 18-30 to register and vote this coming election. The event will be held on September 20th, at the UAW Hall in Spring Hill. Admission is free and limited to those 18+.  The event starts at 3PM and has a concert and video game tournament included in the festivities.

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend as the U.S. celebrates Memorial Day.

With a teen out of school and free for the summer, my days are mostly spent waiting to see where I can take her next and how much money I can give her.

Newly appointed Commissioner Victoria DeFreese remarked in last week's Commission meeting that she had received "countless" e-mails, faxes, letters, and phone calls regarding the recent p-card audit.

As of 3pm Saturday, a round of thunderstorms was pushing northeastward through south and west Middle Tennessee towards Nashville. You can follow their progress on Stormtracker above throughout the afternoon and evening. Lightning and thunder will be accompanying these storms, but they will probably not reach severe limits, as our temps are [...]

I have received news that The Veggie Cafe will be opening this Friday (March 14th)  from 11am - 7pm.    On Saturday there will be a Veggie Kids Workshop at 3pm and an Eggless Hunt on the following Saturday (March 22nd).
