Metro police announced today that they've added anabolic steroids to their random drug testing policy, spurred by an international investigation into steroid use and sales that has led to the decommissioning of three Metro officers.

"Large sums of money"WSMV reports here that Franklin Police busted drug runners funneling cocaine from Mexico to Nashville and wiring "large sums of money" back to Mexico in return. Three arrests were made.

A similar bust was made by Metro and Brentwood police in June 2005 (story here).

Developing story: a reported large number of individuals were being taken into Finley Stadium by combined local, state, and federal law enforcement officials. Among those arrested this morning is Chattanooga City Council District 5 representative John Franklin, Jr.
