It's nights like this that I really miss living within walking distance of Hillsboro Village. I'm home alone (my family is vacationing in Florida), I've got a rare night off from work, and I'm bored. I'd rather not drive anywhere and keep my gas tank at its present level. It's the perfect evening for a walk down to Bosco's, Fido, or Provence.

The girls have been spending a lot of time lately playing and exploring the great outdoors. Typically it is just a matter of minutes before shoes are shed and bare toes squish slick green grass, although in our backyard we have to watch for doggie land mines, if you know what I mean. We’ve been taking family walks at the nearby greenway and going up to the local playground.

–I just got a book off Amazon for twelve cents. TWELVE CENTS!!!eleventyone!!

–We walked along the greenway for about half a mile, with Honeysuckle, Bellflower, thistle and other stuff I can’t name all in high flowering and scent mode.

My first taste of honeysuckle was as a kid on my grandparents' farm in Harstville, TN. I recently came across more on a walk on the Greenway by my home. I let my kiddos try some. One liked it and the other wasn't about to put her mouth on some plant. I tried a taste myself and couldn't believe how minuscule the drop of honey was.

Usually, Kathy T is like a real estate sherpa.  She walks into a situation, instantly finds her bearings, and can expertly guide you around.

But yesterday, we saw a house so ridiculous that I came into the living room to find her sitting in a dazed confusion.

We’re excited that the weekend is finally rolling in, but we’re also overwhelmed. There’s a lot going on, and it’s all worth hitting up.
