The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) held public meetings on July 10 (Memphis), July 15 (Nashville), and July 17 (Knoxville), 2008, to gather public input on the general concept of tolling.

From the City of Knoxville: "The Gay Street Bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on June 17-19, for a routine inspection by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. TDOT inspects the bridge every two years."
