Wow! What a novel concept! Using shame to deter negative actions. How many bad situations could be deterred by putting a little public shame associated with things we don't want.

Heard a report on the radio that a guy in Michigan is suing Zondervan and Thomas Nelson, Inc. Why do you ask?

I have just finished reading Treason by Ann Coulter -- a terrific book that sets the record straight on, among many things and people, Senator Joe McCarthy. The book concludes with two paragraphs that I absolutely had to cite on this blog.

This week, after Rep. Rob Briley made a heartfelt apology for his well-publicized drunken behavior, Rep. Gary Moore, the straightforward Joelton firefighter, made the excellent point that everyone battles secret demons. But the way he made it was hilarious:

“Some of us are alcoholics,” Moore said. “Some of us are thieves. Some of us are adulterers. Truth of the matter is, we reflect society.”

Now, I know what you're thinking -- everyone does it, a billion chinese can't be wrong, it makes us be humble and care about our neighbor, and sure, there are people out there doing sh*tty things in the name of their religions, but their religions are different from yours, and, it's worth mentioning, worse than yours.
