Funny how you can know someone and at the same time be surprised by them.  Some people don't seem to have the ability to shock you.  Perhaps you know them too well, or maybe you can predict the things they'll do or say before they have the ability to do or say them.

Since droning on endlessly about being sick and, ZOMG the steroid crazies, isn't exactly curing me, I suppose I'll stop talking about it.

Or, not.

Like sands thru the hourglass, these are the days of our lives. Who knows why that phrase came to mind. I haven’t watched Days of Our Lives since forever. Do they even start the soap opera like that anymore?

Today Ashby [I gave up coming up with a cute name for him. He's stuck with the real thing.] asked me for the instructions to check our voice mail on the home phone. I emailed him the number and password, then I wrote,
"I haven't checked it in. Umm. Two months."

In cleaning out the hundreds of e-mails that amassed during my recent vacation that took me off the grid I came across an interesting study. (By the way, I highly recommend a complete break from email, voice mail, etc. at least once a year -- you will be amazed at how calming it can be).
