Life interfered last night, and I was not near a TV to watch the speech. I’m sure that it was a rousing speech, Obama does excel at speechcraft. So, I’m going through it, little by little here.

Planning updated S-town's profile at the end of last month, and it includes some noteworthy numbers.  Numbers that stand out to me:  in 2007 "persons per household" average is 2.24, which sustains the question of whether this is a kid-friendly neighborhood.

I was going through our medical bills this morning and I found $264 dollars that the Vanderbilt Medical Center charged me for a test that according to my doctor ended up being "not processed properly as ordered." No where on the bill is the $264 credited. There was also a $45 blood test that did yield results according to my MD.

As I listen to the daily parade of fire trucks, probably CONFIRMED heading to the Bottleneck of Death to assist with the recurring, early-evening, gruesome task of perhaps extricating bodies from a wreck, it reminds me of the grim reality that elected representatives essentially become actuaries, by proxy, and more probable, by choice.
