I don’t know if I told you, but Homer turned 40 in May. She’s doing quite well with it although when she referred to having “nose” problems calling it a bat in the cave the other day, I can say we didn’t feel much like we were in our 40s.

We snorted water out of our noses laughing.

I’ve been reading quite a bit about the Knoxville shootings. Two people dead, hundreds of people seeing a man give his life to save theirs, a day where children woke up, excited to be in a musical in front of their friends, their family and their fellowship.

The chief deputy sheriff of Maury County retired Monday after 13-years service, Sheriff Enoch George said.

It’s impossible to condense Ashley Brown’s lifetime of service to just a few words, George said. The sheriff said he met Brown in the late 1960s as a laborer at Monsanto. Brown was the lead man in charge of George’s crew, he said.
