Though the sale and ignition of fireworks in the city limits is banned, the law will be lifted between noon-11 p.m. Friday to allow residents to celebrate the national holiday, Fire Chief Jim Swindle said. Note that I place "bursts" in air quotes because for me, burst is speeding up from a 15:30 minute mile to a 12:00 to 12:45 minute mile.
