pots and pans

It stands tall
covering the clutter behind
the pile I have gathered
over the years...
of pins and needles, pots and pans

It stands still
masking my worries, my sorrows
hiding the wounds of hurt and spite
shrouding a heap of emotions I stored
encasing the pool of tears I cried

It stands strong
backing the burden beyond

I forgot to say yesterday that the sweet & sour pork recipe works well with chicken too.

Things you might not have in the pantry that you’ll need for shrimp fried rice are scallions, shrimp, shallots, and red and green chili peppers.

I bought a rice cooker.  The Butcher thought this was so hilarious that he demanded I immediately blog about it so that y’all could know that I’ve turned my back on conventional pots and pans.  He sat around all afternoon going “WRRrrrrr” until finally I was all like “What?  What?” and he said, “Oh, that’s just the noise of Grandma spinning in her grave.”

And yet, my friends, when the black beans and rice came out of the

Lord of all pots and pans and things..
Make me a saint by getting meals
And washing up the plates!
